At the start of ABA services, you can expect a caregiver interview and initial skills assessment with a supervisor. After the assessment is completed, the ABA supervisor will write a report or “treatment plan” to show you the findings from your child’s skills assessment.
A couple weeks after the initial skills assessment, the ABA supervisor will meet with you to review the report and gain consent for ABA treatment.
After this meeting, it is our goal to get services started as soon as possible!
When services begin, your child will be paired with 1-2 behavior technicians. These behavior technicians are trained on the goals written in your child’s treatment plan. These behavior technicians, under the ABA supervisor's supervision, will implement the treatment plan's goals.
Family guidance is a great resource that allows you to connect with your child’s ABA supervisor. You can expect that the child’s supervisor will attempt to meet with you each month to discuss progress, behaviors, ABA concepts and so much more! Your ABA supervisor is your go-to for the clinical and behavior questions.
You can also expect reassessments. An updated skills assessment and treatment plan will be conducted and written every 6 months. This helps us visually see the progress and helps us plan for the next 6 months!
Extra Clothes: Please make sure that your child always has an extra pair of clothes! Even if your child is toilet trained, it is important to have an extra pair of clothes.
Diapers/Wipes: If your child is still in diapers or pullups, please make sure that your child has enough! There are two ways that you can do this. You can send a lump sum of diapers/pull ups, and we can let you know when your kiddo is running low, or you can send enough for the day. Up to you!
Lunch/Snacks: Flourish Therapy is not responsible for meals during services, however, sometimes we do have special snacks! Please send your child either with a daily lunch, or food/drinks that can be stored in the fridge or freezer.
Other: If you have anything else that your child may need during services (e.g., sunscreen, diaper cream, lotion, medicine), please send those as well! Your child will have a designated area for all of their things. Medicine will be locked away.
We ask that you send a daily lunch or snacks/ lunch items to keep at the clinic for your child. On special occasions, Flourish Therapy may provide a snack to celebrate!
Please assume that the Flourish Therapy is open. We do not follow the same schedule as schools, so if your child has a break from school, we are still open! In the case that we are closed, we will notify you.
Follow the Flourish Therapy Facebook page for clinic closing updates.
In the case of inclement weather, Flourish Therapy may have a delayed start, close early, or close the clinic altogether.
In the case that inclement weather is predicted, Flourish Therapy may cancel transportation services. In the case that this happens, and the clinic is still open, you may transport your child for services, or you can choose to cancel services.
Please assume that services are scheduled as normal unless you are otherwise notified by Flourish Therapy.
Follow the Flourish Therapy Facebook page for any updates for inclement weather.
